In a variety of companies and industries, Jennifer Miller has seen what makes people tick. She knows what makes teams perform. She understands the philosophical nuances and mindset required to lead.Sharing that knowledge – and showing others how to use it – is her passion. Miller formed SkillSource in 1995 after spending more than a decade managing the human resource and training functions for top companies like Marshall Fields, Foremost Insurance Company and Herman Miller. She wanted to help forward-thinking organizations, those willing to look at themselves honestly and embrace opportunities to improve. Through her consulting Miller has provided her expertise nationally for a variety of industries and organizations, including Bissell, Blue Cross Blue Shield, EDS, Guardsman Products, Farmer’s Insurance and Valspar.Miller is also certified trainer for several standardized programs. She has created a number of customized training programs of her own, including the Train-the-Trainer workshop and the TeleService Skills Training program. A published author and popular speaker, Jennifer holds a degree in psychology from WesternMichiganUniversity and is a former board member of the West Michigan Chapter of the International Society for Performance Improvement.A strong believer in community service, Miller volunteers for organizations such as the Women’s ResourceCenter and GrandvillePublic schools. She has also held several board positions including the national board of directors for the Western Michigan University Alumni Association and the board of the Junior Achievement of the Michigan Great Lakes.Jennifer and her husband Dean live with their two children in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
